We’re speeding through June already. Hello 4th of July! I can almost hear the fireworks.
This week, I have the Rocky Road Fudge Recipe for you! If you prefer having recipe cards you can print for you box or binder, I have got two options for you.
If you’re interested in learning to crochet, one technique you’ll want to know is how to add a ball of yarn when you run out in the middle of a row. I’ve got ya covered with a photo tutorial and video tutorial.
On Instagram, I shared these Gwyneth Shadow Boxes. A combination of my yarn stash and these cute little shadow boxes inspired this idea. I’ve been having so much fun, I haven’t stopped! This project is addicting.
I took a trip over to America’s Antique Mall in Melbourne, Florida to rearrange some items, and add them to Booth 122. This is half of the ones I originally made. I still have to glue the others into the boxes, but I’ve already started crocheting some other color combinations – told you, it’s addicting. Ha! I’ll be adding some to my Etsy shop this week.
In case you missed last week’s edition of The Rockwood Lane Weekly 28. Thank you to Maggie of Crochet Happens for helping out with the photo collage!
Check out her Etsy Shop for some great handmade items, like this Iced Coffee Cup Cozy.
Let’s Get to Those Great Finds!
Camo is such a fun print to pair with so many colors and prints! Mireille of Chez Mireille shares with us 4 Camo Outfit for Spring and Summer, and I think my favorite is with the pink shorts.
Make yourself a cozy new Loop Rug! Allison of Dream a Little Bigger has a step by step tutorial for us. This loop yarn is so soft and plushy, and makes for a really lovely rug perfect for any room in the house – I used a similar yarn to make my Super Shay Shay Hallway Runner.
Last week, I shared with you an Industrial Farmhouse Bathroom Refresh on a Budget from Simply Beautiful by Angela. I found it linked in her more current Boho Style Budget Bathroom Makeover, and it is simply gorgeous! I can see how the styles have changed. Both are beautiful, but I like how this one reflects her more now. So many beautiful little details.
Wow – look at these beautiful clay Peacock Earrings from My Vian! If you’d like to make your own, there is a video tutorial showing how!
Maggie of Crochet Happens shared a crochet pattern review for this adorable Maisy’s Holiday Dog Scarf. She says, “This dog scarf crochet pattern was quick and easy – perfect for beginners. It only uses one stitch but creates a great ribbed texture. This would make a great gift for any dog lover!”
It’s been awhile since I’ve been to TJ Maxx, but WOW! Now I feel like I need to run over to check the skirts! I love how Mireille of Chez Mireille paired and styled this statement skirt.
I love sampler projects like this Upcycled Sewing Ephemera Shadow Box from Julie of Sum of their Stories. I’m always on the look out for boxes like this when I’m out thrifting.
Candace of T & C Crafters shared a crochet pattern review for this sweet Kitten turned into a Keychain. She says, “This pattern works up super quickly with very minimal yarn. It is a great stash-buster and works great for market prep! While the pattern can be a bit tricky for a beginner, it is a well-written pattern for crocheters with experience in working up amigurumi. I highly recommend checking it out if you need a quick and adorable pattern to make up for your upcoming markets or if you just want to make an adorable kitten keychain!”
These Watercolor Flower and Leaf Circles from Sara of Creative Jewish Mom are gorgeous! I’m envisioning them turned into coasters. I’m not sure exactly how I would do it but either within a clear coaster that has a slit for photo, or sandwiched in between layers of resin (though me and resin aren’t great friends), or decoupaged onto ceramic tile coasters if I could find some nice 4″-ish ones.
Carrie of Mountain Momma Crochet shared a crochet pattern review for an Easy Bandana. She says, “While we transition into summer, I was looking for an item to make. The qualifications, given the personal and professional commitments of the last few weeks were: easy-to-follow instructions, ‘road friendly’, yarn on hand, and repetition wouldn’t have been tossed out as a perk. This bandana checked all those boxes!”
I am so in love with the large, ruffly sleeves with the pearls from this Candy Pink Skinny Jeans Outfit from Emma of Style Splash! The black is a great pair with the bright pink too.
Looking for book recommendations? Here are 6 with reviews by Laura of I do deClaire.
I follow Hainchan on Instagram, and I love seeing the variety of cats she makes! With this crochet pattern via Etsy, you can make your own cat army!
