I am so close to finishing my Through the Window Afghan! A few more rows, and the border, and then it’ll be ready to use, and I can’t wait!
I ordered some Bead Style Magazines on eBay, and received them already. This was always a favorite magazine of mine, and I was sad when it was discontinued. I’ve been flipping through the pages, and feeling so inspired. I can’t wait to clear off the table in my craft space, and pull out my jewelry kits!
I just learned about Forestcore from an email I received as a subscriber to HGTV, and I’m loooving it. It’s sort of like Boho + Bohemian + Rustic + a little modern Farmhouse and Industrial, featuring natural materials and textures, dark, moody colors and full of greenery. My home is a blank canvas, and a hot mess of mix-matched pieces as I’ve been unable to decide which direction I’ve wanted to go over the years, but this could be it. Hmm…
In case you missed last week’s edition of The Rockwood Lane Weekly 21. Thank you to Maggie of Crochet Happens for helping out with the photo collage! Check out her Etsy Shop for some great handmade items, like these adorable little Pocket Hearts.
Let’s Get to Those Great Finds!
On my sister blog, EyeLoveKnots, Candace from T&C Crafters has shared a crochet pattern review for this adorable Mini Belly Ellie. She says, “The first pattern I worked up from Madeline Mae Co was the Mini Belly Ellie, and I have since made 5 more! This pattern works up super easily, and the finished project is nothing shy of adorable! I’m currently in full market-prep mode, and this pattern has been a lifesaver for working up medium-sized stuffies in blanket yarn to fill up my stand. Best part of this pattern- there is a bonus mod for a completely different design included in the already reasonably-priced pattern!”
I love this casual outfit from Mireille of Chez Mireille that pairs this beautiful, tweed skirt with a fun, graphic tee.
Saguaro Cacti hold a special place in my heart. These Toilet Paper Tube Cacti from Sara of Creative Jewish Mom are so cute! Great way to upcycle toilet paper tubes, and a cardboard box. In her tags, she mentions Baby Shower, and I love that idea. You could cut cardboard circles to close up the bottom and top, and place treats in the tube.
I always struggle with the embroidery details of faces on amigurumi. Julie of One Little Hook has put together a great step by step photo tutorial showing how to embroider eyes.
I just love carrot cake! This cupcake looks so good that I could just eat it! Hehe. This free spring kitchen printable from Krist of i should be mopping the floor is available with two different backgrounds.
I don’t typically think of wearing a scarf anywhere other then around my neck, but look how Mireille of Chez Mireille uses this yellow scarf to accent this outfit! She includes 4 other ways to wear a scarf too!
When you have a sweater that doesn’t work as a sweater anymore, you Refashion it into a Sweater Vest! Julie of Sum of their Stories did a great job with this refashion, and I love the idea of it adding extra warmth under a jacket without the bulk around the arms and underarms. And the sleeves – save those for another project like fingerless gloves, or a wine bottle cozy.
I’ve really been into the tropical theme lately so I love these Preppy Printable Booksmarks with Fun Floral Designs from Kristi of PrintOrganizeRepeat on Etsy.
If you prefer something a little bit more Springy, then you’ll love this Set of 4 of Free Printable Easter Bookmarks from Kristi of i should be mopping the floor. The bunny one is so sweet!
This month’s Yarn Crafts & Coffee finds include St. Patrick’s Day, Spring, Easter and Summer free and paid crochet patterns.
These Carrot Walnut Bran Muffins from April J. Harris would be perfect for breakfast with coffee! Especially for a little bit of extra coziness in the Spring or Fall.
What a cute, and cozy outfit from Mireille of Chez Mireille! While I’m not much of a skirt person, this is definitely right up my alley! I can’t help but think that this skirt would be a fun project to upcycle a sweater too!
These Crepe Paper Anemone from Gail of Purple Hues and Me are just gorgeous, and she shares a step by step tutorial for us.
One thing I look forward to each month is a new wallpaper for my computer from i should be mopping the floor – it also includes wallpaper for tablets and phones. April’s is Butterflies and Bees.
On my sister blog, Cre8tion Crochet, Maggie from Crochet Happens has shared a crochet pattern review & sewing tutorial for this beautiful Boho Bag. She says, “After making the Bitty Boho Bag I new I had to also add the adult version to my summer marker lineup. This bag has all the same great qualities as the toddler version but with some added grown-up flair.”
Another great breakfast option, or dessert, are these Blueberry Coconut Scones from Jocelyn of Inside BruCrew Life.
Spring -> Summer -> Fall – what a versatile dress! A great Thrifted Boho Outfit for $40 from Mireille of Chez Mireille. I haven’t been thrifting in a while, but this outfit makes me want to go right now!
Valentine’s Day may have passed, but Spring is upon us. This tweet free printable card from Kristi of i should be mopping the floor comes with two versions – one blank on the front with the sweet birds, and one that has a specific saying for Valentine’s.
If you love tie-dying clothing and accessories, you’ll love this Tie-Dye Easter Eggs DIY from Lindsay of Artsy-Fartsy Mama.
