The Rockwood Lane Weekly 17

July 26, 2021

This week’s finds include how to upcycle plant saucers into coasters, 11 Summer shoes from Amazon, retro red skirt outfit idea, how to embroider on canvas and an adorable kids toolbelt shirt.

I share sneak peeks and more in my Facebook groups, so I invite you to join my DIY Home On Rockwood Lane group, or my Alexandra Lane Lifestyle group. Drop me a line below to let me know what kinds of things you’d like to see, and I’ll try to incorporate more of it!

And if you prefer crochet and fiber finds, check out The EyeLoveKnots Weekly 3.

Let’s Get to Those Great Finds!

What a transformation on these clay pot saucers! And so easy to customize to any theme or season. Check out the tutorial from Interior Frugalista for these French Country Terracotta Saucer Drink Coasters right here.

Cyndi from Cyndi Spivey blog has shared a great collection of 11 shoes that are perfect for Summer. Numbers 3 and 6 are right up my alley any day of the week. Check out this great collection of shoes right here.

I am in love with the retro vibe of this outfit! Suzy did an awesome job putting it all together based on a book! What a neat challenge to try to imitate art through outfit. The last photo really tells a fun story too. Check out this Style Imitating Art post from The Grey Brunette.

I love the modern take on this boho embroidered planter. And with this tutorial, you can apply it to any canvas item, like a tote bag, pull on canvas shoes, and aprons to name a few. Check out this embroidery tutorial from the Darice Blog right here.

This little tool belt shirt from MoonwakeDesignsCo is adorable! You’re little handyman will just need a little hard hat. Available from 12 months up to 12 years. Get yours right here on Etsy.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hey! I'm Alexandra, the blogger and creator behind On Rockwood Lane and EyeLoveKnots! My passion is being creative. My favorite thing to do is crochet, and you will almost always find me having a cup of coffee and working on a new crochet project, but when I'm not doing that, you might find me out at a local park rollerblading, baking some fresh cookies, picking veggies in the garden or re-decorating for a new season or holiday. My two cats are great supervisors for all my adventures (minus the being outside because they think it's too hot in Florida to be anywhere but inside), and make sure I take plenty of breaks.

I've been shopping for a noodle bowl with chopstick holder for my niece. I really like this design.

Black OUGES Top (aff link)

Black OUGES Top (aff link)

When I received this black Ouges brand top in my September Amazon Wardrobe box, I was pretty happy. I have a similar top that I received in an earlier box that is the same brand, and I love the fit of it. I think the raglan style gives me a sort of confidence. I am a 42″ bust wearing the size Medium. There are several other colors available too!

Crocheted Lip Balm Keychain (aff link)

Crocheted Lip Balm Keychain (aff link)

It's lip balm season, and these lip balm holders are excellent! They come on a swivel hook that can be attached anywhere for easy access, and to make sure you don't lost your lip balm at the bottom of your bag. I personally have one of these. The quality is great, and Candace is lovely to work with! PLUS they come in 11 colors!
