How to make an easy candy sampler gift box.
Welcome to the May Pinterest Challenge! The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate us to not just pin, but to make it happen!
This month’s challenge is Father’s Day.
I’m sharing a sampler candy box that I made my husband for his birthday a couple years ago. It would also be a great birthday gift, graduation gift, and so much more!
My inspiration comes from the Father’s Day Candy Tackle Box from Coffee, Pancakes and Dreams. I also really like this fishing one on Pinterest.
You can find more great gift ideas for him in my Seasonal: Father’s Day board.

Let’s Make a Candy Sampler Gift Box!
I used one of my plastic storage boxes that I got at JoAnn’s for my beads, like this 10 slot one from CharmsAlotJewelry on Etsy, but mine has 20 slots.
I just emptied it out, and told him I needed it back when he was finished with the candy – haha!
Then, I took a trip over to my local Dollar Tree, and picked up different candy packages of his favorites. One thing I will recommend is to measure the size of the slots because I didn’t, and ended up buying too much candy – though, is there really such a thing?
And I just started plugging in candy here and there. My husband likes pickles, so I thought this pickle card was fitting.

Yum! We did something similar one year making it look like a tackle box and filling it with Swedish fish, gummy worms, etc. so that everything looked like lures and bait for our fisherman. We’re traveling this Father’s day and I’ve been trying to think of a fun surprise for him on the road– I may have to work on putting something like this together with all his favorite road side snacks! Pinned.

The tackle box and corresponding snacks is such a great idea! My husband needs a new tackle box. Perhaps I will do something like this again for his birthday with the different snacks and goodies inside – definitely some Goldfish!

What a fabulous idea to make a candy sampler gift doe Father’s Day! This is perfect for just about anyone for any occasion! And how cute is it using a small storage box to hold the samples! I can think of so many ways to decorate it, too!

You are so right! Perfect for anytime of year really, and so many ways to customize.

What a fun and creative idea! My son would love this. School is almost out for us and this would be like a dream come true with all of the candies for his last day of class!

That’s such a cute idea. I have a bunch of flat card boxes – you know the kind that you keep because as an adult you come to appreciate a ‘good sturdy box’ . I could repurpose one of them for an idea like this, create some simple card dividers maybe. My brother’s birthday is coming up and he’s impossible to buy for normally! Thanks π
Alexandra says
That’s an awesome idea! You are so creative – I would mostly likely just wrap it up in a pretty paper. Haha! But I love that idea. I have a few of those boxes you speak of.

Who wouldn’t love a box of candy? Thank you for sharing at Party In Your PJ’s.
Alexandra says
Right? Haha!

I LOVE this Alexandra! My husband is very difficult to buy for, but this is something he would really enjoy I think! It’s fun and different. Thanks for sharing it at Thursday Favorite Things!
Alexandra says
It definitely is fun and different, and you can fill it with so many different things, especially if your container has the removable dividers to open the spaces up.
Pam says
P.S. I’ll be featuring this at the TFT party tomorrow. Congrats! π

You’re awesome! I really appreciate this.
