This week, I spent some time cleaning up my craft space. It was so crowded, and overwhelming, I couldn’t think! I couldn’t find anything, and I had no space to work, so I’m glad I took a little bit of time to work on that. I was able to finish filming my the YouTube video for my Volume One Afghan Square, and as soon as I finish getting it edited, and published, I have a plastic canvas project I want to start on, and I bought several charms on sale at Hobby Lobby that I plan to turn into earrings.
I’m working on revamping my booth (seller ELK) at America’s Antique Mall in Melbourne, Florida. I think I’ve landed on a tropical/retro vibe… sort of Florida meets Hawaii… lake life, beach life, oranges, alligators, etc. I worked up two other versions of my Volume One Afghan Square to test some colors out – this is my retro version, and I think it’s so fun! I can’t wait to work up some more pieces in this color scheme. Along with testing colors out, I practiced my photography a bit too. My photos tend to be more boring so I’m so proud of how this came out!
Let’s Get to Those Great Finds!
On my sister blog, EyeLoveKnots, Maggie from Crochet Happens shared a free crochet pattern for the Boho Sunglasses Pouch. These are a great quick that are great for stashbusting as well as market prepping.
Speaking of market prepping, T & C Crafters has shared an awesome resource! She complied 20 free mini crochet patterns that are perfect for market prepping, or little gifts. They are tried and true with reviews and photos of each one she made, and all the links are provided for you. These are great items for stock up on for Christmas stocking stuffers, Easter, classroom gifts and so much more.
I love this Pink Pinecone Wreath from WM Design House! Incredible what a little bit of paint can do to transform the pinecones into flowers. She has a DIY for it included. Imagine these in shades of green for St. Patrick’s Day, like the Endless Summer Wreath I made a couple years ago, pastels for Spring, bright colors for Spring/Summer, patriotic colors for 4th of July, warm colors for Fall… endless possibilities!
If you’re looking for a little inspiration for Early Spring Outfits, I do deClaire has put together 5 ways to transition, and my favorite is this purple lace outfit! Not only is it a lovely color, but look at those sleeves! Scroll on down too to see some more outfit ideas in the Confident Twosday Linkup.
This red always gives me Valentine’s Day vibes, but what a fun twist to wear a Cartoon Dog Print Style Shirt with it! With the black and white base, you could easily wear this other times of the year as well simply by changing up the blazer.
On my sister blog, EyeLoveKnots, Abby from A Stitch Shy of Normal, has shared a crochet pattern review of the super cute Tolosa Vest. The tweed colorway she chose paired with the ribbed stitch pattern is simply lovely!
I updated my DIY Rose Crafts post to add 10 more DIYs equaling 60 DIYs in total. While my original inspiration was Rose Day, these are great projects for Valentine’s Day, Spring, Mother’s Day or just because.
Our Crafty Mom has shared some beautiful, free St. Patrick’s Day Printables. The tiered tray one is my favorite, but they’re all very sweet and such a great set! Display them together, as Michelle has done in her home, and display them in different rooms for a cohesive feeling throughout.
I recently discovered Embroidery Online, and there are such fun embroidery designs on there, like this new Freestanding Barn.
You would be surprised how dusty a sewing machine can get if you don’t use it regularly, and don’t have it covered up. I have cats so that probably doesn’t help. But if you don’t have a cover for your machine, now you can make one with this free sewing pattern from Sew Can She. I really love the fabric she used too!
With my sister blog, EyeLoveKnots, I’ve joined The Unraveled Mitten, and 17 other crochet designers in the 2023 Stash Busting Crochet Along, and I’m so excited to be a part of it! Every other week, a new 12″ afghan square design will be released by a different designer, and in the end, there will be 20 different afghan squares to sew together to create a one of a kind afghan. Get more details, and get all the links to the squares as they’re released by visiting with The Unraveled Mitten!
The Volume One Afghan Square is my contribution. This free crochet pattern uses Red Heart Super Saver in the Aran colorway, and combines 6 different stitch patterns together for a stitch sampler style project.
I love the big, flat flowers in these DIY Marigold Earrings from Moois van Mie plus the color is quite lovely.
Jill of Doused in Pink is sharing some great Spring Outfit Ideas with Cabi Clothing, and I just love this trench coat – wow!
Over on my sister blog, EyeLoveKnots, Candace from T & C Crafters has shared a book review for First Words with Cute Crochet Friends by Lauren Espy, published by Blue Star Press. She made several of the projects from the book, and other books from Lauren, and she and her daughter really enjoyed reading this book together alongside all the cute little creatures.
On my sister blog, Cre8tion Crochet, I’ve shared a free crochet pattern for the Through the Window Clutch. This clutch has been worked using a mosaic crochet pattern, and it’s become one of my favorites. To me, it resembles a window pane, and we’re looking out of it. It’s been worked in Lily Sugar n Cream yarn in the Mod Blue and Ecru colorways, but my favorite way to work this stitch pattern is with a variegated yarn and a coordinating solid over top.
What a beautiful Spring Farmhouse Flower Arrangement from Hunny I’m Home! Everything comes together perfectly, and the burlap is such a nice detail too. This is lovely on the front door, but would also be nice above an entryway table or mantel too.
I love all the designs from Celtic Knot Crochet. She shares so many creative ways to work up a Celtic Knot, including this Celtic Knot Scrubbie, which includes a free crochet pattern & video tutorial. If you haven’t tried Hobby Lobby’s Scrub-o-logy Yarn before, I highly recommend it for kitchen scrubbies! I personally use it for my kitchen scrubbies, and they are best sellers in my shop too.
Jennifer of CelticKnotCrochet has also shared a crochet pattern for a pair of lovely Celtic Shamrock Earrings on Etsy. I love wearing earrings that are themed to the time of year. These are perfect for Spring and St. Patrick’s Day, and you can experiment with colors inside the shamrock to match different outfits better.
Blueberry muffins are one of my favorite things, especially first thing in the morning with my coffee. Michael from Inspired by Charm was put together a round up of The Best Blueberry Recipes – so many delightful things to choose from! Blueberry season varies on the area, but here in Florida, it’s from March to early May. If you’re in Central Florida and looking for a place to pick blueberries, I love Southern Hill Farms in Clermont!
These Large Carrots from Jen Hayes Creations are so fun! Look at the twirly leaves on tops. These are lovely toys if your little likes to play store, kitchen or farmers market, and would also be great decor pieces for Spring and Easter. Free Crochet Pattern included. Want even more sizes? Change up the yarn weight and hook size.
I have been wanting to add a bird bath to my front yard for quite some time. I love this collection of DIY Bird Baths curated by A Cultivated Nest. I’m going to spend a little bit more time checking it out, and maybe finally get one added for My Wild Birds & Squirrels.
