In this week’s edition of Thrift Store Thursday, I’m sharing this rare, brown and cream Next Day Gourmet au gratin dish.
These au gratin dishes are perfect for individual size casseroles – really great if you have picky eaters that don’t like certain ingredients. It’s also an unexpected lovely dish for the kitchen sink sponge (that’s what I use one for), on the dining room table holding bread or as a trinket dish or candy dish – imagine over a crocheted oval doily!
This is a creamy white colored dish, and an elegant fan print on the handles where you would hold with your thumbs…
… with brown on the bottom on the sides and a creamy white colored bottom. It has “DC 627 USA Next Day Gourmet 775364” stamped on the bottom.
I purchased this dish in early 2021. When I bought it, I only found one other listing, and as I write this listing (September 2021), I still only see one listing for it so it’s a more rare au gratin that is very similar to the Hall 527 au gratin, but the bottom of this one is not as smooth. In my research, I’ve found vintage au gratin’s similar to this one from the 1950’s.
This dish holds 8 ounces, and is about 8″ long by 4.25″ (4 1/4″) wide by 1.75″ (1 3/4″) deep.
If you are local to Central Florida, you can also find this piece and more in person at America’s Antique Mall in Melbourne. Ask for seller “elk”.
How to Price Your Next Day Gourmet Au Gratin Dish
My tag says “Next Day Gourmet Oval Au Gratin Dish”.
The only other listing for this same dish I found is listed for $35. From my experience with the Hall Au Gratin 527 dish, I decided to price mine for $10.
Where to Purchase a Next Day Gourmet Au Gratin Dish
Here is mine on Etsy – $10 (or eBay if you prefer)
Next Day Gourmet Scallop Ends Dish from jewelryboxfinds – $35
You can find several similar au gratin dishes in my Thrift Store Thursday post for the Hall Au Gratin Dish 527, and some examples of how I use mine in this post as well.

I have a couple of dishes similar to that, I use them for vegetarian bakes for my son to keep his dinner away from our meat. I’m pretty sure they are not valuable at all as collectables though, but they are a useful size!

That is an excellent use of them!
