25 Festive and Fun DIY Christmas Gift Ideas!
I recently participated in a festive blog hop on my EyeLoveKnots blog, and one of our themes was Handmade Gifts. There were so many excellent DIYs shared from my friends that I just had to share them here with you! I was one short so I added in a recent DIY from one of my many favorite blogs, Sum of their Stories.
Crocheted Haylee Scarf from EyeLoveKnots.
This simple and sweet crocheted scarf has 4 sizes available, and is worked in a beginner friendly half double crochet stitch pattern. Make one for everybody in the family!
Cricut Elf Cam Mug from Intelligent Domestications
Every year on my wishlist is a new Christmas coffee mug, so I love the idea of receiving a mug like this one! If you don’t have a Cricut, you can still make one by using a Sharpie, and baking it.
Cover with Center Seam from My Pinterventures
Being that we now have to have covers on all the time, I love the idea of a festive and fun holiday one, and probably a good project for scraps too because you could make it reversible! Free sewing pattern included.
Christmas Treats Rock Art Tutorial from Christmas Tree Lane
I have yet to try my hand at painting rocks, but I really love to see the ones that others do, and I especially love the idea of paying it forward by leaving them for others to find.
Homemade Soap Gift from Purple Hues and Me
My mom gifts me homemade soap every year, and I look forward to receiving it! Many homemade soaps are perfect for sensitive skin (like mine), and the add ins smell divine.
What I really like about this tutorial is that Gail also shares her fail with us so we can learn from it, and shows us how she fixed it! She also shares the benefits of Sandalwood! I had no idea.
DIY Snowflake Soap from As For Me and My Homestead
Another take on homemade soap is this glycerin version. The blue snowflakes are so neat! Crochet an adorable little soap cozy, like this Dip Dyed One, to gift it in.
DIY Monogram Tray from The Aspiring Home
Personalized gifts are super popular around the holidays, and this one is really easy to whip up! Would also be a great housewarming gift, or just a neat serving idea for your entertaining.
Bottle Cap Clock from Farm Girl Reformed
How fun is this bottle cap clock?! Perfect piece for the kitchen, and easy to personalize with whatever your (or your recipients) favorite drink is.
DIY Glam Candle Holders from From House to Home
These candle covers are so pretty, and elegant looking! Perfect item to gift and display any time of year, and very affordable to make say for Wedding reception tables.
DIY Car Care Gift Bag for Her from Little Vintage Cottage
In this tutorial, Tania shows us how to sew a trash bag for the car, and how to make a felt car freshener. I definitely want to make several of the car fresheners. I didn’t know they were so easy to do!
Cricut Leather Earrings from Domestic Deadline
Leather earrings have been quite popular this year, and I can see why! They are so pretty, lightweight and have so many design options. There are many Cricut bundles you can purchase to get designs like these above, but if you don’t have a Cricut, you can do it with lots of patience and an exacto knife.
Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix from Coffee With Us 3
When the weather cools off, I get into the hot chocolate spirit. I stock up when I see it on sale, and love the variety of different flavors. I attempted to make hot chocolate at home once with hot milk and Lindor chocolates, but never thought to make my own powder. So easy, and perfect for gift giving, especially last minute.
How to Package a Cookie for Gift Giving from My Humble Home and Garden
Every year, I spend 2 – 3 days in the kitchen baking cookies to fill containers that will be my gifts for Christmas. I can totally relate to not realizing just how many cookies are needed to fill the containers, even when I do it every year, so I really like this idea of nicely packaging up just one cookie.
Snow Globe Shadow Box from Craft Rocker
Snow globe crafts are so big this time of year, but I haven’t seen it in shadow box form before! Very fun idea.
DIY Angel Mason Jar Gift from An Alli Event
Here’s another excellent last minute gift idea, or something to make for a craft fair. I think the angel is so precious, and quick to put together too! I would fill mine with those soft, puffy mint candies that melt in your mouth.
Memory Garment Hand Warmers from Interior Frugalista
This is the absolute sweetest thing I’ve seen! Marie used one of her mom’s old shirts to create these beautiful, personalized hand warmers. Such a perfect way to share the love, and gain some comfort in remembering someone special that you’ve lost.
Christmas M&M Cookies in a Jar from Simply Inspired Meals
Another excellent last minute gift idea, or market seller. Also the perfect gift for neighbors, teachers and co-workers. Pair it with a festive mixing spoon or spatula.
Christmas Tea Towels from Across the Blvd
These tea towels would be great to pair with say a mason jar full of cookie mix, like the one above from Simply Inspired Meals! Personalize the colors to better match your (or your recipient’s) theme. Quick and easy.
Lighted Snowflake Wine Bottle from Mom Home Guide
I’m in love with this project! I am totally getting all the Winter vibes from it. Save all your wine bottles throughout the year to make these beautiful bottles, and while this one has been made with clings, you could easily paint or decoupage the images on too (or even leave a solid color).
Holiday Cookie Mix Gift Sack with Printable from Bloghetti
I just love how this cookie mix has been packaged so beautifully in these red burlap bags! So easy to make even a simple, last minute gift look great for gift giving, and the recipient will surely love the finished baked cookies, and that they can reuse the gift bag.
DIY Coasters with Infusible Ink from Domestically Creative
I am loving this Wintery watercolor look! Wrap these coasters up, and pair with a set of wine glass markers, or a bottle of wine.
Felt Holly Napkin Rings from Tikkido
Sometimes we don’t think of things like table settings as gifts, but every year, I gift my mom a new set of something for her home. One year I did a set of 8 plates, cups and bowls, then I did a set of 8 sets of silverware, then I did a crocheted tablecloth. A set of fabric napkins and napkin rings would be a great addition!
DIY Gifts for Teens by Teens from Polka Dot Poplars
I love everything about this post! What better to know what teens want, than to ask teens themselves? And even better if they are the ones making it, and showing us. This is so sweet.
Festive Calming Jar from Our Sutton Place
I hadn’t heard about a calming jar before this post. Sounds like a really great idea, and fun to make too!
Stitched Paper Christmas Cards from Sum of their Stories
Perfect project for scrap pieces of wrapping paper, scrapbook paper or old holiday cards! And just a sweet, simple way to dress up a package, especially last minute.

I love all the fun DIY gift ideas shared in this post! Thanks for sharing my DIY lighted snowflake wine bottle! I love these wine bottles – they can be customized for any time of year. (I just put my Halloween ones away.)

Happy to share your upcycled wine bottle! It does seem like a very easy project to do anytime of the year. I was holding onto some wine bottles not knowing what to do with them, but in recent decluttering, I recycled them.

Such a lot of lovely ideas, and thanks for including my stitched cards.
I try to make at least a few gifts each year but would love to do a totally handmade Christmas one year – maybe when I retire!
Alexandra says
Happy to include your cards! I’m with you! I’m with you – I’d also love to DIY all (or most) of my gifts! Definitely not enough hours in the day, but I also tend to wait a little too long to start. Oops! Need to start in January.

Lots of cute ideas; many of them I have made and gifted through the years. Thanks for sharing with us at Encouraging Hearts and Home. Pinned.

Happy to share 🙂 In recent years, I’ve gotten away from crafting, and been focusing on crocheting, but hoping to change that up this year.

These are really lovely gift ideas! I enjoy making jewellery and I’d love to try making soap.

Darling thanks for linking up with me on Chicandstylish – I love these ideas, but the soaps are the best. What a great little treat for someone. Jacqui x
Alexandra says
Absolutely! That is something I look forward to receiving from my mom each year – some homemade soaps.

You have included some great ideas, especially for last minute gifts. I will be featuring your post this week on the new party. Thanks for sharing. #HomeMattersParty

Thank you so much, Donna! I always find myself in need of a last minute gift or two, and I love that many of these can be done last minute. I actually have a few more gifts to DIY this week.
