Come visit Green Farms in Washington, NJ with me. I’ll show you some beautiful flowers this nursery carries, and the sweet animals that roam around with you as you shop.
Green Farms is a beautiful nursery located in Washington, NJ, a borough about 20 minutes away from Phillipsburg, PA (more known than Washington, NJ).
I did not found an About Me page, but what I gathered from testimonials is that Green Farms has been operating for more than 15 years. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a sweet black lab named Jake that keeps an eye on things while you shop (photo borrowed from their Facebook).
While visiting with some family this past Spring, we stopped by Green Farms to look for some plants. Since I was visiting and did not have room to bring plants home on the plane, I just admired it all, and wow! So many gorgeous flowers in varying sizes, and great prices too!
I was able to snap a few photos along the way, but you can see even more in my video on Instagram. In a hurry? Pin this for later when you have more time.
As soon as we got out of the car, this family of ducks caught my attention. I love that they all look like they are on a mission, and quick they were!
When you first arrive, you’re greeted by so many beautiful plants all around in a rocky area. Way in the background there, there is a sign that reads “field grown mums” so in the Fall, there are mums as far back as the eye can see – I hope to make it back to see them!
On my way to the greenhouses, I spotted these yellow Pansies…
… and these pink Dahlias – look at that yellow center! Variegated flowers always catch my attention, and many come home with me too. Sorry for them though because I do not have a very green thumb – oops!
These beautiful orange Dahlia’s were parked right next to the pink. They also had the most beautiful Pansies that looked like black velvet that I missed getting a photo of – they were really gorgeous!
I went through 4 greenhouses. Here is a view of one from the left…
… and a view of it from the right. That warm color patch there in the center really warms my heart! Hanging baskets from one side to the other, and plants along the bottom.
I spotted some strawberries with cute little red ones ready for picking.
These variegated beauties caught my eye – a huge area covered in these white hanging baskets. Such a great color combination!
Around the third greenhouse, I spotted the family of ducks having a drink. Love it! I could have sat here all day, and watched them.
I think I was most blown away with the size of the marigolds in the fourth greenhouse. Some of them were as big as my fist! I’ve never seen them this big before – have you?
On the way out, I was impressed that I was able to snap a photo of this beautiful, yellow butterfly. It was as if it was posing for me.
