This is a recipe review of the Sour Cream Banana Bread recipe from Inside BruCrew Life. I’ve renamed it “The Best Banana Bread” because it is the best recipe I have found, and I have already made it three times!

This post was originally shared on my EyeLoveKnots blog, and was for the December 2019 Pinterest Challenge Blog Hop, hosted by My Pinterventures.
The purpose of this Pinterest Challenge is to motivate all the participants of this hop (and you too) to not just pin, but to make it happen!
I don’t know about you, but banana bread is one of my favorites! My husband really likes it too, and I wanted to find a delicious, and easy banana bread recipe.
Searching Pinterest, I first came across the Purple Ribbon Banana Bread recipe from Delightful E Made. It was okay, but I wanted more. I really wanted a moist bread full of banana flavor.
I kept searching, and came to Inside BruCrew Life’s Sour Cream Banana Bread recipe. I already LOVE her recipes, so I was excited to try it out.
Check out my Food: Cake/Breads/Donuts Pin Board!
Makes:
One Loaf – 8 – 16 Pieces(ish)
Time:
1 Hour, 20 Minutes – Only 15 Minutes to Prep!
Ingredients I Used:
- 1/2 Cup Butter – I use Country Crock Plant Butter (dairy free)
- 1 cup + 1 teaspoon of Sugar
- 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- 2 Eggs
- 1.5 Cups of Flour
- 1 teaspoon of Baking Soda
- 0.5 teaspoon of Salt
- 0.5 Cup of Sour Cream
- 1.5 Cups (or 2.5) Mashed Bananas
- Sour Cream Banana Bread Recipe from Inside BruCrew Life
I Also Used:
- Mixing Bowl and Spoons
- A Masher (the one I use is really for pulling apart meat, but I use it for mashing potatoes, eggs, etc. A potato masher would work for this too)
- Loaf Pan
- Hand Mixer
- Toothpicks
Ingredient Notes:
Foil: I didn’t use any, but it would have been helpful so the bread would have come out easier for cutting.
Bananas: One banana makes about half a cup mashed. I used half a cup more than the recipe calls for just to add more flavor, and it’s perfect!
Mix Ins: Nuts or Chocolate Chips would have been perfect to throw into this mixture!
Sour Cream: This really adds more moisture, and made the bread fluffier. Was a great addition! I am wondering though – what dairy free ingredient can I substitute this with? Apple Sauce?
I loved everything about this recipe! Easy recipe to follow with easy ingredient list, and low prep time. The flavor and texture was incredible. I have really been enjoying this bread – with my coffee right when I get home from a long day of work. Highly recommended recipe – I’ve already made it three times!

Banana bread is definitely the best! Since my daughter got married and moved out I don’t buy bananas as much as I used to but I need to try out this recipe. #HomeMattersParty

I highly recommend it! I am the only one that eats bananas in my home, and I often don’t eat them as quickly as I should, but this is a great recipe for when they start turning.

Yeeess! I am always sad when I finish the loaf, but always happy to make another. It is so nice with the sour cream in there.
