In this week’s edition of Thrift Store Thursday, I’m sharing this nautical Pfaltzgraff Ocean Breeze sugar bowl.
The Pfaltzgraff Ocean Breeze line began in 1995. According to Replacements . com, it is still an active line so really hard to tell if this is a vintage set or more current though I have read on some other pages that it’s a retired print.
In my experience with research, this sugar bowl is in more of a demand than other pieces. I had several picked out to include down below to purchase, and most have sold out before I could get this posted, including mine.
The Ocean Breeze line features a beige base with a sagey green, medium teal and dark blue band. In the case of this bowl, the green and teal are at the bottom of the bowl, and the blue is along the rim.
The bowl measures 3.25″ in diameter across inside opening – 4″ across entire opening and is 2.38″ tall without the lid – 3.75″ tall with the lid on.
If you are local to Central Florida, you can also find this piece and more in person at America’s Antique Mall in Melbourne. Ask for seller “elk”.
How to Price a Pfaltzgraff Ocean Breeze Sugar Bowl
My tag says “Pfaltzgraff Ocean Breeze Sugar Bowl with Lid”.
In search, I found that these range from $10 – $28. I priced mine at $10, but accepted $8 on eBay.
Where to Purchase a Pfaltzgraff Ocean Breeze Sugar Bowl
I found a few for sale online…

Some Inspiration for a Sugar Bowl
In this coastal coffee bar from Home Sweet Home Decor on Instagram, you can see a collection down on the bottom left that includes a sugar bowl, and what I am assuming is a creamer holding Hydrangeas, and some sort of large pitcher, but all matching pieces that look beautiful together, and go with the beach vibes.
I really like this upcycled coffee bar from GreenChairFurniture on Etsy, especially the wood background and the hidden storage. Right next to the coffee maker, you’ll see a cake stand holding just the essentials, including a sugar bowl, which can house many things besides sugar, like stevia, cinnamon, mint candies and more!
And if you want to take your sugar bowl a step further, you can upcycle it into a pincushion for your craft space, like Tania from Little Vintage Cottage did in this tutorial.

I remember the days of Pfaltzgraff! I have a huge collection of one of the original prints – I think it’s called Yorktown. Thanks for sharing your sugar bowl!

Yes! I have a few from that line. I really like the white and blue combination.
